Practical Instruction in the Arts and Sciences of Making Money

Editor/Publisher:  J.F. (Jim) Straw

SEPTEMBER 2008

Greetings & Salutations:

The United States of America has always claimed to be a nation founded upon religious principles.  On our coinage and currency, we imprint the phrase, "In God We Trust."  And, most political leaders, opinion makers, and others who seek the support of the masses are quick to quote the Judeo-Christian religious teachings as a premise for their causes.

Unfortunately, the majority of those quotations taken from religious teachings, as a premise for a socio-economic cause, are taken out of context.  They are used solely to incite the masses "against" the real, or imagined, opponents of the chosen cause.

Currently, it has become fashionable for those that would dupe the public into providing more socialistic, welfare-state programs, to select and quote (mis-quote and take out of context) those theological passages that appear to condemn the rich; in order to condemn "excessive" and/or "windfall" profits.  Yet, these same people are the first to demand higher wages (more profits) for those who do not earn them for increased production; which is the only economically feasible reason for increasing wages.

If, as these hypocrites say, "Money is the root of all evil," why do they accept "money" for their services and production (whatever that might be)?  And, why are they so quick to champion the giving of "money" to those who have not earned it? -- Isn t their acceptance of money, and the giving of unearned money to selected segments of our society, by their own premise, a hypocrisy; promoting the very "evil" they supposedly oppose?

No matter how you look at those who quote religious tenants to support socialistic programs, they are hypocrites.  For, throughout all theological teachings, you will find that the "earning" of wages, and the making of "profits" is, in actuality, promoted.

As an example, you may want to read the ...

"Parable of the Talents" [Matthew 25:14-30]

In this story, "talents" (money) were given to three men t to each according to his several abilities (not based upon "need", but rather "ability"). -- The one with the most "ability" received the most money.

The servant who received the most money, in accord with his several abilities, doubled the money for his master -- a "profit" of 100%.  Another servant who received less than half as much money, in accord with his abilities, likewise, doubled his master s money. -- The use of their abilities, and the resources at hand, was rewarded by their master with greater responsibilities and further profits.

One servant, who had received the least amount of money, in accord with his abilities, produced nothing from the money he received. -- The master took from him the money he had originally given and gave it to the servant who had produced the greatest profit.

Those who advocate the application of religious teachings to economics are the biggest hypocrites when they advocate taking money for those of us who have the ability to create "profits," and giving it to the non-productive. -- The religious scriptures promote just the opposite; as evidenced by the next to the last verse in the New Testament "Parable of the Talents," to wit:

"For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance; but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath."  -- Matthew 25:29

If we are to truly base our economy on the theological teachings, we should take from the non-productive, profitless elements of our society, and give those unearned resources to those who "produce" the greatest profits.

Now, let's do some ...

Questions & Answers, Comments & Other Good Stuff!

Stephen B. Lord
just told me ...

"I have just found out about and am now working with a company that will use a simultaneous closing with seller financing.  That is, the seller will sell the house "owner financing", but I have a buyer for the note ready to purchase it at the original closing so the seller will never have to collect a single payment.  I can offer up to 90% of the appraised value (generally a little less like 85%).  The seller will have to get an appraisal done by a state certified appraiser and pay for a newspaper ad, but that's their only cost.  -- If you know anyone that wants to work with me on this to make some money, it can be done anywhere in the country and it does not need to be in the state where the property is."

Okay, Gang ...

If you're interested, contact Stephen.

Roy Babineaux wanted me to tell you ...

"Our site is ready to go providing free advice, free support and free products I would appreciate you helping me spread the word about our new website."

No kidding, Gang ...

They do provide a ton of free stuff on  an ongoing basis.

Check it out your ownself  at:  http://biz24.com/

David Breth wanted to know ...

"We are studying your "Affiliate" course. Inside you discuss placing ads in papers, flyers, etc.  -- In your experience, what are the best types of papers to place them in. How big of an ad, etc.  -- Our second questions is in regard to the direct response "card," you spoke of placing them in a packet and direct mail. -- A. Direct mail to a bought list? -- B. Do you suggest placing them in the money mailer type envelopes (like new movers, etc.)?  Please advise."

Dave ...

Unfortunately, there is no  "best" place for your ads.

What you need to do is first develop a "sales piece" ... postcard, flyer, classified ad ... that produces good responses.  Which means you need  to test the cheapest media and keep testing different ads until you find one that works  for you.

When you have an ad that produces good responses, start placing in other media ... testing each one to see which  media produces; and which  don't.

That's the way I did it.

There are countless card deck mailers that can mail your postcard in with a ho'bunch of others ... do a search for postcard  decks - but - the best bet is to mail the postcards individually to a rented list with the demographic you want to reach.

Roger Audy was wondering ...

" I am very interested in the Millionaire In One Year course but there is something that I just don't understand. Why do the "seller/buyers" need me to find the great deals on products ?  What's keeping them from cutting out the middleman and doing ther own searches for closeouts. It seems that any business person would be doing that. -- I love the concept of this business and feel that I would enjoy doing this much more than what I'm doing now. Is this still a valid way to become a Millionaire in this day and age?"

Roger ...

Finder's Fees are an excellent way to become a Millionaire ... as it has been for over 50 years that I know of.

There are millions upon millions of businesses in this country.  Not one of them can know about all of the available sources for their wants and needs.

Paying salaried people to locate sources is NOT cost effective.  Finders only get paid when they find what is needed; saving the business money.

And  ...  with  all  the responsibilities a business owner has, his/her time is better spent selling and managing.

Clint Pollard has something go-o-o-od ...

"I noticed in your newsletter at the bottom you tell your readers about products you like.  Well I found a few sites where you can get free hosting and free domains and I put together a guide to show people how to get them set up. I know I just about went crazy trying to figure it out when I got my first domain, so I think some of your readers may need it. If you like it I hope you will be kind enough to let your readers know about it."

Okay, Gang ...

Go find out more about it at http://ncave.com/freedomainandhosting.php

By the way, it is fan-dam-tastic ... in my opinion.

Kenneth Jones is now the VP ...

"I am now the VP of Only Nature's Finest. We are beginning our marketing program. We have Master Affiliate Partner positions available.  We have it set up so you can sign up other people and get paid on their volume. This is NOT MLM, but direct sales, with a two step affiliate program."

Congrats, Ken ...

Patrick Bateman wanted me to be un-stumpable ...

"This may be of interest to your readers just to show them they can't stump the ol' pro on your vast knowledge of business facts. -- Don't you know I've been waiting all my life to learn where this expression came from! -- My education is now complete!"

Thank you, Pat ...

An interesting fact.  I will share it  with  my  readers.

Manure... An interesting fact on S.H.I.T.

Manure:  In the 16th and 17th centuries, everything had to be Transported by ship and it was also before commercial fertilizer's Invention, so large shipments of manure were common.

It was shipped dry, because in dry form it weighed a lot less than when Wet, but once water (at sea) hit it, it not only became heavier, but The process of fermentation began again, of which a by product is Methane gas. As the stuff was stored below decks in bundles you can see What could (and did) happen.  Methane began to build up below decks and The first time someone came below at night with a lantern, BOOOOM!

Several ships were destroyed in this manner before it was determined Just what was happening
.

After that, the bundles of manure were always stamped with the term 'Ship High In Transit' on them, which meant for the sailors to stow it High enough off the lower decks so that any water that came into the Hold would not touch this volatile cargo and start the production of Methane.

Thus evolved the term ' S.H.I.T ' , (Ship High In Transport) which has Come down through the centuries and is in use to this very day.

You probably did not know the true history of this word.

Neither did I.

I had always thought it was a golf term.
